Josh Moskow, Terri Brodeur’s nephew, used his Bar Mitzvah Project and his passion for archery to make a difference in the world. At age 13, he ‘shot for the cure’, and raised approximately $1,000 for TBBCF! Josh wrote ‘Based on my performance at archery events, I Shot for the Cure to raise money for scientist research grants to find a cure for breast cancer. The Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation, which is named after my Aunt Terri, who passed away at 41 after a two and a half year battle with the disease, leaving behind my late Uncle Tim and three young cousins, Ashley (12), Melanie (10) and Sean (7). It is important because my family lost several loved ones, and many other families around the world have similar tragedies where they have lost family members to this terrible disease. The American Cancer Society estimates breast cancers in women will continue to decrease due to advances in research. However, one woman will still be diagnosed with breast cancer every three minutes, while on average; one woman will die from breast cancer every 13 minutes’ |
