Message
from the President: TBBCF Website Update
December 23, 2009 - The Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation (TBBCF)
website has reopened after being down for nearly two months. We deeply regret that this happened, but ran into
significant challenges in our efforts to improve the web platform. Having said
that, we would be remiss in not mentioning that since the founding of the
organization in 2006, the website has been run by a small number of volunteers
(a web developer, a data base administrator and a technical manager) who have
provided pro bono website services at a savings to TBBCF of over $300,000.
Our mission of directing 100 percent of total gross fundraising dollars toward
breast cancer research would be impossible without the website team and our
other core volunteers who help keep operating expenses to a minimum.
We know you are devoted TBBCF supporters and that
the website shutdown caused frustration and anxiety for many of you around
reaching your fundraising goals and acknowledging the individuals who supported
your efforts. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has
caused. You are the lifeblood of our fundraising efforts!
We wish to offer you assurance that
the website is stable and secure. We are now hosted by Go Daddy, a hosting
company rated in the Top Ten in the US.
While the move to the new hosting company took longer than we had anticipated,
please know that all functionality is intact and we are working diligently to
post all walk donations to the website by January 10, 2010. To allow our
walkers sufficient time to achieve their fundraising goals due to the website
disruption, we have extended the donation deadline to March 31, 2010.
We have faith in our walkers, crew,
sponsors, and supporters and believe we can move beyond this serious bump in the
road and continue toward our goal of finding a cure for breast cancer. We thank
you all from the bottom of our hearts and look forward to walking with you in
2010.
Wishing you peace and happiness during
the new year,
Howard Brensilver, M.D.
