2006 Goals and Objectives - Business Year One
There were four primary goals for Year 1(2006)
Goal #1: Establish a non-profit foundation recognized by the IRS as a 501 (c) (3) organization eligible for tax-deductible contributions and corporate matching gifts.
- Jan 06 - Obtained IRS Federal Tax ID/EIN Number (20-4149832)
- Feb 06 - Filed By-laws and Articles of Incorporation with the State
- Feb 06 - Filed 501(c) (3) application and required paperwork to the IRS
- Mar 06 - Held initial Board of Directors' Meeting and approved By-laws
- May 06 - Launched web site
- May 06 - Received IRS Determination Letter effective 2Feburary2006
Goal #2: Identify Corporate Sponsorship to cover all overhead and administrative costs thereby directing 100% of gross fundraising money to breast cancer research.
An all-volunteer, non-paid staff operates The Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation business. Volunteers are vital to achieving the foundation's strategic, economic, and projected growth business model goals.

Goal #3: Identify, organize, and market three to four annual fundraising events with the marquee event being a walk across Southeastern Connecticut.
- Jun 25 - Stash's Café Band Bash
- Aug 12 - One Magic Night in Old Saybrook
- Oct 14 - March across Southeastern Connecticut
Goal #4: Identify a breast cancer researcher to receive funding award.
In Year 1, the Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation will identify a promising researcher to be showcased as recipient of fundraising efforts. In subsequent years, as the organization grows, the Foundation will move to a "call for submission grant" review process.
