  • Raising the Bar

May 9, 2009 - Once again, the fundraising bar has been raised by TBBCF's Triathlete, Eric Bauman.

For the past three years, instead of participating in the Walk Across Southeastern Connecticut, Bauman completes a triathlon and raises funds for TBBCF. In 2008, he raised over $8,000 making him the third highest fundraiser.

This year ... as in past years ... Bauman has raised the endurance bar.

Last year he competed in the New York Olympic Distance Triathlon (0.9 mile swim, 25 mile bike, 6.2 mile run) and in 2006 and 2007, he entered sprint triathlons.

This year he took on a 50-mile triathlon (1-mile swim, 40-mile bike and 9-mile run). The May 9 race was held in South Jersey and was called the New Jersey "Devil Man".

Bauman, the Executive Director to Finance at Pfizer Inc, has been raising funds for the TBBCF since its inception in 2006. In all, he has collected and handed over more than $16,000 to the non-profit that sends 100 percent of every dollar it collects directly to breast cancer researchers.

Bauman has currently raised over $6,000 in 2009. Expect him to be one of the top fundraisers again this year. Congratulations, Eric!
